Ten Cents a Dance, 1931
This is from an early talkie starring Barbara Stanwyck (in the middle) but I’m posting it because of the silent pin-up fellas on the wall: I can see John Gilbert and Douglas Fairbanks Sr. clearly, and I’m pretty sure John Barrymore’s in there, as well as Warren William. Not that all of these guys didn’t make talkies as well (William in particular was only in a couple of silents ever), but the photos themselves seem to be from the silent era (I know the Fairbanks one is!). I thought it was a nice example of how only a very few years separates silent films from talkies, and time is so fluid, even though they seem like such distinct and rigid periods!
IDs for any others? Larger version here.
